Kip Moore Humbled By Recent Success, Excited to Release Debut Album

Country newcomer Kip Moore is making waves at country radio with his top 20 (and climbing) hit, “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.” The Georgia-native, who moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter in 2004, says the success of the song is unbelievable.

“I don’t know if there’s any way to put it into words,” Moore tells CountryMusicIsLove. “I’ve always believed in myself and when you finally see it working, it’s a humbling thing. I’ve spent so many countless hours late at night listening to records and studying and trying to figure out what it was gonna take to make this thing happen. And to see it actually come to vision, it’s a pretty wild thing.”

While he’s happy to see the single do so well, Kip tells us that he’s “most excited” about releasing his entire record- something that wouldn’t happen if the single wasn’t this successful.

“We put so much into this project,” he says of his debut album, Up All Night, (in stores 4/24). “To actually put out a whole record – ‘cause now a days it doesn’t really work like that. It’s all based on if the single does well then they’ll put out the record. That’s why I’m so glad the single’s doing well because I’m getting a chance to put out a whole body of work.”

When it comes to the album, Moore says fans can “expect to be moved” when they hear it.

“I think it’s an emotional record,” he explains. “I think it’s got a lot of colors. I think you’re gonna be happy, sad, you get to feel a lot of different emotions with this record. I think that me, I might not sing the notes to perfection all the time, but there’s a grit, there’s an honesty to what I’m doing. And I’ve lived all these songs so I think you’re gonna feel that when you hear the record.”
