Each week, we focus on the latest gallivant around the streets we’ve come to call home for a new adventure and give readers an inside look on what makes this city special. Join us as we chronicle the hilarious and wild experiences with KB in the City.

Strap on some shoes and click in tight because CycleBar The Gulch will take you on the ride of a lifetime in less than an hour.

With the year kicking off with quite the bang (looking at you, resolutions!), some people hype themselves up to follow through on those gym intentions they set once the clock struck midnight on that chilly winter evening. After stuffing our stomachs full to the brim over those Christmas breaks, even I must admit that it’s time for a 2018 change for the better when it comes to the whole fitness game.

Although resolutions sounds like a bit of a downward spiral resulting in failure and forgetfulness, 2018 translates into a new start for all and a chance to create a lifestyle change rather than fall deep into the pit of dieting and overpriced gym memberships. Hoping to kickstart some sort of motivation to hold on to my ‘strength’ theme for the year, I desired to sweat the stress away thanks to CycleBar’s interactive and energetic sessions in one of the hottest boroughs in the city.

While the CycleBar brand kicked off more than a decade ago, Nashville gave its first location a go within the past year after a number of workout trends began to rise into many citizens’ everyday life. Making sure their clients ‘rock the ride’ during every class, instructors pump up the grind with some bumping beats and team-oriented motivation for everyone to reach their fullest potential.

Honestly, I felt the intimidation flowing throughout my body before entering not only my first CycleBar class but rather my first cycling course ever. Thankfully, the theme of Beyoncé captivated my confidence while getting hooked on the pedals for an empowering exercise round.

As the class moved together like one solid unit facing the fatigue of constant movement, Queen Bey commanded her vocal power into our determination through anthems like “Run the World (Girls)” and “Love on Top.” CycleBar makes sure to stick to a steady rhythm regardless of the class theme, so riders don’t feel nervous about the possibilities of cycling off-course away from their end goal.

Even the most beautiful of ballads like “Halo” drove some sort of unwavering stamina within my shaking legs to take me (and the other glistening riders) to the finish line of power and endurance. All the while, the CycleBar instructor never failed to make us believe wholeheartedly into the perseverance deep down within each individual.

Motivation and inspiration aside, CycleBar The Gulch continually provides the much-needed support both in and out of the studio. The staff caters to any rider’s needs, whether they’re looking for some rental biking shoes or offering a post-workout snack to relinquish any tummy grumbles following exerting all the energy toward becoming a better person on and off the cycle.

Through the sweat and grit, CycleBar The Gulch aspires to create three things for all of its clients: a comfortable environment with killer tunes and a motivational instructor to achieve fitness goals and confidence boosts alike. Sticking by their mission to fuel bodies and hearts in one session, CycleBar raises the, well, bar for any other exercise trends headed to the Nashville community.
