The country singer will be releasing the romantic track to radio any minute now and Janson’s excitement over the single choice cannot be contained.
“Well, number one, it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written. It’s the best song I’ve ever written and I love it more than anything,” Janson told Sounds Like Nashville and other reporters earlier this month.
Setting the scene of the love story between Janson and his wife, “Holdin’ Her” could make any listener swoon over the beautiful progression of their relationship. Verse by verse, Janson sings about their first meeting, the engagement and even gives a brief mention of their children. While the universal message of true love is heard throughout the song, it’s fair to say that Janson wrote it out of passion for his wife.
“It’s an absolute true story, from start to finish. It’s the story of the things that I love most: my wife and my kids and my journey in life. If anyone wants a real look inside my life, here it is. Out of all the songs I’ve ever written, ‘Holdin’ Her’ is the one song that I have always wanted to hear on the radio,” he said.
Janson has been anticipating this release for quite some time now. Since Country Radio Seminar week was held, he has been looking to change it up on country radio and take them down a slower musical road than his last hit, “Buy Me A Boat.” Fans, too, find themselves thrilled to hear another story out of Janson’s book.
“I have a bunch of new fans as well, thanks to ‘Boat’ and the commercial success of it; however, they love ‘Holdin’ Her,’” he explained. “They just love it. When the fans speak, you have to give them what they want and thankfully, radio is a part of that. I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. It’s what I always wanted to put out and I’m doing it.”
Janson was nominated for Breakthrough Male of the Year at the 2016 American Country Countdown Awards, which will air Sunday, May 1, on Fox.
