Chris Young goes straight to the source of his country tradition in the new video for “Raised On Country.”

All about his country roots and name checking icons like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Joe Diffie, George Strait and more, the hard driving track highlights country radio as the soundtrack to Young’s childhood. For the video, he and a couple of band mates take over the famous WSM Radio Tower – the massive antenna which has been broadcasting the Grand Ole Opry across the nation since 1932. That single tower is the reason many people became country fans in the first place, and Young counts himself among them.

“As a member of the Opry, I was honored to be allowed to film ‘Raised On Country’ in and around the WSM Radio Tower and the same airwaves where songs from my musical icons have played over the years,” he says. “It was a long day and I had a lot of fun filming the video – even in the scenes where we had debris flying in our faces inside the studio.”

Young’s speaker-busting “Raised On Country” video was directed by Peter Zavadil, and finds Young delivering his own county-rock mix “live” on the air. The track is the first taste of an upcoming project from Young, and his 2019 Raised On Country Tour kicks off May 16th in Alpharetta, Georgia. That run will feature Chris Janson in direct support, plus Jimmie Allen, LoCash and Dylan Scott on select dates.
