Florida Georgia Line is recently on a mission to prove they’re not just some one-trick pony as they re-entered the pop world yet again with the help of Hailee Steinfeld on a song called “Let Me Go.”

The track, which is produced by EDM artist Alesso, bops like the next big club hit with FGL and Steinfeld trading off verses for an up-tempo love song. While the song shows no signs of country, the duo’s vocals set in nicely to the synthesized funk dwelling through the chorus.

Without any true warning, the guys announced they’d be teaming up with Steinfeld just a couple days before the release of “Let Me Go” to streaming services. Marking the first time that Florida Georgia Line has worked with both Steinfeld or Alesso, it creates another bridge for other country artists to expand their musical horizons with in the pop industry.

“Never know when we’re gonna drop new music. Out on Friday. Excited for this one! #LetMeGo @HaileeSteinfeld @Alesso @thisiswatt,” they tweeted out to their followers on Thursday afternoon just hours before the official release.

Florida Georgia Line also found themselves collaborating with other pop artists over the past year, with a nod on a song with EDM duo The Chainsmokers, a duet with pop up-and-comer Bebe Rexha and their CMT Crossroads performance with the Backstreet Boys.

They’ve also become quite close with other artists outside their comfort zone, by inviting the Backstreet Boys, Nelly and Chris Lane out on their Smooth Tour for the next couple months of the fall season. Always up for the next opportunity to make new music and establish relationships with all kinds of artists, FGL is paving the way for whatever they find next in their career path.

Currently, FGL is promoting their own single on country radio called “Smooth,” which is featured on their Dig Your Roots album.
