Maren Morris Takes Her Classic Car for a Spin in the Video for ‘80s Mercedes’

Windows down and music up: Maren Morris is going for a cruise in her favorite classic convertible in the new music video for her latest single, “80s Mercedes.”
Set in many animated scenic views, Morris drives her way through the blood-red sunshine days and forest-filled nights while singing along to the roadtrip-worthy tune. Bringing some friends along for the ride and later snagging a beau for the shotgun seat, Morris takes command of the video by stunning in the apple red vintage car.
Even matching perfectly to the lyrics, the car sports a hula girl on the dashboard while Morris rocks a white leather fringe jacket when dancing along to the groove. Carefree as usual, nothing beats a sweet ride with all the bells and whistles a driver could ever want.
Morris even took to her Instagram to talk about the importance of the video, noting that she had a vision for the look of it and they captured it just as she thought.
“80s Mercedes was a music video in my mind from the day we wrote it. I wanted the visuals to feel really neon, hyper stylized and fun. Like a graphic novel on acid. My incredible director, @alon_isocianu had a vision that matched the song perfectly. I also was able to fly my best friend, @rachaelehess out to LA to be in the video which felt very full circle. When we were 12, I told her ‘if I ever make a music video, you’re going to be in it with me!’ She kept me laughing hysterically as we pretended to drive in front of a green screen all day. I hope you guys enjoy the video as much as we had a blast making it! 80s Mercedes is out now on @youtube and @vevo,” she wrote to the fans.
The single recently took on a new sound when tourmate Keith Urban covered the chorus in a short homemade video clip while hanging out at home. Urban covered it to return the favor to Morris when she rehearsed his song, “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” at a recent soundcheck. The two, along with Brett Eldredge, are currently on the ripCORD Tour for the rest of the summer and fall.
