New Angaleena Presley Album will Feature Co-Writes with Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton
"'Wrangled' is an explicitly forthright journey through my experience in the business of Country Music," Presley shares.
In just two short months, Angaleena Presley will release her new 12-track album Wrangled. The follow-up to 2015’s debut, American Middle Class, the new record will showcase the ups and downs of her path within the music industry.
“‘Wrangled’ is an explicitly forthright journey through my experience in the business of Country Music. I tried to tackle uncomfortable realities like the discrimination against female artists at the height of Bro-Country, the high school mentality of Music Row and the pain that’s just beneath the surface of the road to stardom,” Presley shared in a press release.
“Covered in elbow grease and sacrifice, I set out to shed the skin of my ‘dream’ Nashville by painting a musical picture of loss, surrender, resurrection, redemption, and connection with real people who make and support honest music,” she concluded.
Featured among the track list are songs written by some of country music’s biggest names, including a song called “Only Blood,” co-written with Chris Stapleton and featuring vocals from Morgane Stapleton. Another highlight from the upcoming release is the album opener, “Dreams Don’t Come True,”co-written with Presley’s Pistol Annies comrades, Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe.
Presley’s project Wrangled is set for release on April 21 on Mining Light/Thirty Tigers. The Kentucky native will take the new music out on the road for fans with a yet-to-be-announced spring and summer tour.
