Feel good hit makers Old Dominion return with another blast of romantic positivity with the new single, “One Man Band.” But this time things are a little different, according to frontman Matthew Ramsey.

Built on a laid back tempo and featuring the relaxing sound of shakers, finger snaps and feathery guitars, the track is just as cleverly written as smashes like “Break Up With Him,” “Song for Another Time” or “No Such Thing As a Broken Heart.” But where those hits often featured a twist of good-natured humor, “One Man Band” is a 100-precent sincere tribute to fulfilling relationships. And it was partially inspired by the bond enjoyed by the band themselves.

“‘One Man Band’ is the first true ‘love song’ we’ve ever released,” Ramsey says. “One of the things we talk about the most in this band is how we can’t imagine being on this crazy ride alone. We have each other to celebrate the highs and get through the challenges with. It’s one of the best parts of being a BAND. Sure, you can make music alone. But if you find people you have a chemistry with, a whole new world opens up. I think it’s the same with life and love. You can go it alone. But sometimes there is another person out there that adds something to your ‘music’ that you would have never had on your own. That’s the show you want to take on the road. That’s what this song is about.”

A video for the new single shows the band recording in the studio with producer Shane McAnally, and also rehearsing the track for their massive shows on the road — which undoubtably helped when they performed it live for fans at Nissan Stadium during the 2019 CMA Music Festival.
