Taylor Swift Performs ‘Better Man’ Live for the First Time Ever

When Little Big Town released their current single “Better Man,” there was on question on everyone’s mind… who wrote it? After several weeks of being played at radio, the GRAMMY-winning group revealed that it was country superstar-turned-pop icon Taylor Swift who had penned the heart-wrenching track.
Though the song has been recorded and released by LBT, Swift took the song to Houston over the weekend for her own emotional rendition during a pre-Super Bowl party in Club Nomadic. Upon the start of the song at what is likely to be her only show of 2017, the crowd immediately burst into cheers and applause as Swift played it on the guitar. Equally as excited for the moment was Little Big Town, who immediately shared a photo from Swift’s Instagram and said, “We’ve been waiting for this moment. Absolutely amazing. Thank you, @TaylorSwift!”
Among Swift’s set list was a song she also penned for EDM artist and ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, “This Is What We Came For,” as well as her collaboration with Zayn on “I Don’t Want to Live Forever,” from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
Little Big Town released the song as the lead single from their upcoming eighth studio album. While the group hasn’t had a chance to perform it in person for or with Swift, they have gotten nothing but exciting texts from the superstar.
“She’s been excited for us. When we played it for her, she loved it,” the group’s Phillip Sweet told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “It’s a first,” added Kimberly Schlapman of Swift’s first time pitching a song she wrote to another artist. “She’s been through so much in her career, but this is a first for her, which is really cool to experience that with someone like her.”
Little Big Town’s much-anticipated new album, The Breaker, hits shelves February 24. The track has become the group’s fastest rising single to date and currently sitting in the Top 5 at country radio.
