Country newcomer Ingrid Andress brings her empowering debut single to life in the new video for “Lady Like.” Boldly rejecting the old-school notion of womanhood, it was released last Friday (3/8) for International Women’s Day.

The clip begins with Andress stuck in the past, forced to balance books on her head and do the laundry. But the Colorado native quickly breaks free from those chains, putting a challenging visual to her edgy lyrics. She plays poker with some guys at a bar, feet kicked up under an un-frameable Mona Lisa. She bangs out piano chords inside a mini jungle, kicked out of the garden of Eden. And she does it all with big dose of “ladylike” poise.

After breaking out as a co-writer on tracks by artists like Charli XCX, Alicia Keys and Sam Hunt, the singer-songwriter has already been included on Sounds Like Nashville’s New Country Artists to Watch in 2019 list. She’s expected to release more new music this year, and is currently introducing herself fans overseas. Andress will play shows across the United States later this year with dates coming soon.
