The country music awards season is kicking into full gear with CMT announcing the special artists selected to be honored at the 2017 CMT Artists of the Year program.

Five of country music’s biggest names including Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line will all celebrated for their contributions to the genre over the past year. They also will reflect upon their accomplishments and accolades within the music industry as respected artists throughout their craft.

The 2017 CMT Artists of the Year event will also lend its attention toward the devastation from Hurricane Harvey in Texas, and applaud all first responders and volunteers who took part in storm relief efforts or offered donations. CMT wants to extend the coverage to their audience in order to continue the charitable outlets that have aided many victims during this horrific weather pattern.

“Working with our honorees and the entertainment community, we’ll take advantage of one of our biggest nights of the year to honor the resilience of those impacted by this disaster and applaud the fearless efforts of those on the front lines,” said Frank Tanki, General Manager of CMT. “CMT is committed to providing our fans with the tools and resources needed to contribute to this massive recovery effort as well as connecting those affected to the support services they need.”

This marks the longest winning streak of the CMT Artist of the Year Award for Bryan, and the sixth total for Aldean. Florida Georgia Line notches their fifth recognition and Chris Stapleton snags his second, while Urban takes home his first one since he made the list in 2014.

What’s special about the CMT Artists of the Year is that the honorees are recognized by their fellow peers through speeches and never-before-seen footage played throughout the evening. One-night only performances also fill the Schermerhorn Symphony Center halls as duets and collaborations take over the intimate stage.
