Kane Brown has much to celebrate as he became the most-awarded country star at the 2018 American Music Awards. The show took place Tuesday night, Oct. 9, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with Brown taking home trophies for Favorite Male Artist – Country, Favorite Album – Country and Favorite Song – Country.
In the Favorite Male Artist – Country category, Brown beat out country megastars Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett thanks to fan votes. After hearing his name announced by Single Parents stars Leighton Meester and Taran Killam, Brown embraced Rhett and made his way to the stage to accept the honor.
“First off, I feel like I’m about to pass out,” Brown said with a smile plastered to his face. “Second, I just want to say thank God, thank my fans. Thanks to my manager Martha, my team, my band, Sony, Universal publishing and thanks to everybody who helped me with this. My family. I love everybody. Thank you guys so much.”
Additionally, Carrie Underwood won her 13th AMA when he was named the 2018 Favorite Female Artist – Country winner.
“Oh my goodness,” she said after accepting the award from Rhett and The Conners’ Sara Gilbert. “Thank you God, first and foremost. I have an incredible team of people that make my universe go around, so thank you so much, but tonight is all about the fans. Thank you so much. You have shown so much love and support for me for the past few months of my life… well, my whole career honestly, but especially these past few months. I feel it. Thank you so much. Thank you for this. You guys mean the world to all of us. Just, thank you so much!”
