Rising country star Andy Velo is treasuring the memories he’s made and the ones he’s yet to make in his new single “Wouldn’t Be The First Time.”

Premiering exclusively on Sounds Like Nashville before it drops on Friday, Jan. 11, the song sings of wanting to relive those precious moments of days past, but that they wouldn’t be quite as special as the first time it happened.

“The first time I heard ‘Wouldn’t Be The First Time’ I immediately knew I wanted to bring this song to life. In their own way, everyone has lived this story and growing up in north Georgia, I was no different,” he explained of the song. “‘Wouldn’t Be The First Time’ makes me remember those nights growing up when I didn’t even realize I was making a memories that would last for the rest of my life.”

Velo has performed the song live for fans during his recent shows, garnering a cult-like passion with the Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Chase McGill-penned song.

“Fans are connecting with it when we play it live and I love that it resonates with them as much as it does for me. My hope is that ‘Wouldn’t Be The First Time’ ends up being the soundtrack to their lives in a way that not only makes them reflect on the memories of growing up but also gives them a platform to create new ones.”

“Wouldn’t Be The First Time” gives a taste of what to expect from Velo’s upcoming EP release, scheduled for this spring. Seeing the early fan connection with the first song assures the Georgia native that he’s on the right musical track.

“All those years spent grinding it out, writing, recording, and touring around the country has lead me to this point where I feel like not only have I refined my craft, I know my lane in the country music genre. I think this new record, both sonically and lyrically, is something my fans and that of country music will connect with,” explained Velo. “At the end of the day, I want to build a platform to be able to influence the world for good, to end up leaving it better than I came into it, and I’m blessed that platform is in country music.”

Velo, who has toured with artists including Brantley Gilbert, Kip Moore, Corey Smith and others, has several dates on the horizon. Visit his website for more information.
