While Beyoncé is known for her voice in pop and R&B, the superstar tried to throw her hat in the country music ring when it came to her collaboration with The Dixie Chicks on her track, “Daddy Lessons.”

The twang-infused song, off of her critically-acclaimed visual album, Lemonade, was speculated to find its way in the categories of Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. While the album and many of its tracks received a total of nine nominations for the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards in respective categories, it was the GRAMMY Country Committee that rejected the acceptance of “Daddy Lessons” in the format.

A source, as reported by the Associated Press, anonymously gave a tip that Beyoncé had tried to submit the country-influenced tune to the country categories for the awards show, but the committee decided against her petition.

“Daddy Lessons” never found its way onto country radio by any means, but Beyoncé and The Dixie Chicks did perform the song together on the 50th Annual CMA Awards back in early November to a huge response. They then released the track for fans to download and add to their playlists in order to increase its reach across all different genres.

The 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air on February 12, 2017 on CBS.
