Just days before Brad Paisley rocks it out on the Central Coast of California, he decided to practice some vocal warm-ups while visiting the Montecito Fire Department right outside of Santa Barbara.

Paisley gathered up a few of the crew members from the fire squad to rehearse some of his big hits with them before the big show. Getting them to sing along with him for his hits like “Mud on the Tires” and “The World,” the country star even took a special request from a little visitor to play something from Johnny Cash’s collection.

“Hey @theellenshow, looking forward to this weekend! Dropped by the Montecito Fire Department—don’t worry, they’ll be better by Saturday,” Paisley wrote to go along with the short videos.

The country singer and special guest Ellen DeGeneres will team up together for the 2nd Responders show in order to raise money for the victims in Montecito and the Santa Barbara area affected by the devastating Thomas Fire and mudslides. Proceeds made through ticket sales will go back into the local community to revitalize the area after losing many homes and businesses in the natural disasters.

Although DeGeneres is a resident of the town and wanted to kickstart the recovery process by putting the benefit on, Paisley also became a fan of the beachside village after honeymooning there with his wife years ago.

“Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara and the Montecito area on our honeymoon. It feels like small town America by the sea,” said Paisley previously. “With this concert I hope to raise awareness, spirits and money for the region that’s recovering from the devastating mudslides and fires. I hope people come out and actually make it an experience with us and visit some of the local shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.”

The 2nd Responders benefit concert will be held at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Saturday, May 12. More details are available on the Santa Barbara Bowl website.
