Brett Eldredge is back at country radio with the swoon-worthy “The Long Way” from his recently released self-titled album.

The romantic ballad has the country crooner yearning to learn every little thing there is to know about his new lover. “Take me the long way around your town Were you the queen with the silver crown/ I want the secrets you keep, the shine underneath/ Of the diamond I think I just found/ Take me the long way around,” he sings throughout the chorus.

As the single continues to climb the charts, Eldredge is hard at work on creating a music video to accompany the track, and it appears he’s enlisted a very famous face to co-star in the clip.

“Shooting the video for “The Long Way” with @legitsadierob…this video is gonna be MAGIC,” the Illinois native wrote on Instagram on Wednesday (Sept. 20) along with a photo of himself alongside Sadie Robertson, who rose to fame on the show Duck Dynasty.

Robertson also took to Instagram to share her excitement over being cast in the video writing, “hey @bretteldredge looks like a good day to shoot a music video. What do y’all say? #thelongway.”

The song is a special one to Eldredge, who says it’s “a look into what I want to find in love.”

“It’s about getting to know somebody more than just on the surface, getting to know somebody deep down to their core. It’s more than just taking the long way around their town, it’s through their imagination. It’s them telling you everything about where they came from,” he explains. “You want to know every single detail – where they wrecked their bike the first time, where their parents fell in love, the lot where the car they drove in high school is sitting. I think this song says don’t be afraid to have that conversation, don’t be afraid to get to know that person.”

Fans can hear “The Long Way” at country radio and on streaming services now.
