Brett Young is eagerly awaiting the day when he can finally exchange vows with his fiancée Taylor Mills. The couple of 10 years will tie the knot in November in his home state of California.

“We wanted the location to be somewhere where both of our families could make it. When your grandparents get older, you want to make sure that they can be there. We wanted somewhere warm and have our whole family there,” Young explained during a recent interview with PEOPLE.

Getting to celebrate their love with those closest to them is something Young gets emotional about, as this day has been a long time coming.

“One hundred percent — I cry when I think about it,” said Young. “You’ve heard my music; I’m a mess!”

As the future newlyweds look forward to their nuptials, they also look forward to building a family together.

“The older I get the number gets smaller,” Young shared, revealing he originally wanted four. “I think two or three though, God willing.”

In addition to starting their family, the “Here Tonight” singer has plenty on his plate to keep him busy. Not only is he spending time out on the road opening for Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes Tour, but he’s also gearing up to release his sophomore album, Ticket to L.A., on December 7.
