Music fans nationwide tuned in to CBS on Sunday night (4/15) to catch the latest and greatest in country music when the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards aired. The three-hour telecast, hosted by Reba McEntire, was chock full with performances from Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton and many others.

Among the stellar spotlight moments was Vocal Duo of the Year nominees Dan + Shay, who showed off their insane vocals and unique writing style with a performance of their latest single, “Tequila.” During their time on stage, fans noticed a familiar face jamming in the background among the fans. That face belonged to “Diane” singer and ACM presenter Cam.

But why was the bubbly blonde in the pit? Well, she explains…

“Okkkkk let me explain… 😂These guys took me out on tour as an opener back when I had nothin going on at all. Besides loving their music, I saw firsthand how hard they work & how well they treat their fans. To this day they still never miss a moment to support me, so you can be damn sure I’ll *always* be front row barefoot cheering for these two. Best moment of my @acmawards 🙌🏻 #tequila is a BOP @danandshay #dasher4life,” she wrote with a screen-grab of her raising the roof while the duo’s Shay Mooney wailed on the tune.

The moment wasn’t the first time Cam has raised her support for fellow acts in the industry. Sharing photos of the latest additions to her playlist as well as cheering on her fellow females, Cam is always front and center when it comes to being country music’s biggest cheerleader.

Cam’s current single, “Diane,” is out at country radio.
