Canaan Smith to Embark on Long Way From the Freeway Tour

Canaan Smith is ready to take his music out on the road for his headlining Long Way From The Freeway Tour, presented by Budweiser. Kicking off Oct. 19 in Des Moines, IA, the “Like You That Way” singer will hit nearly 20 cities across the United States.

Joining Smith for his cross-country trek on select dates will be newcomers Jackie Lee, Chris Bandi and Eric Van Houten.

The Virginia native recently release his latest single, “Like You That Way.” The song was written with two women in mind – his wife Christy and Miranda Lambert.

“The story behind it, the first line of the song is about my wife. She has a little heart-shaped tat on her back, and she got it the day she was able to. Her dad wouldn’t let her until she was 18. She went and got it as soon as she could. I was thinking about that and sorta what that says about her. This song took shape through her being the inspiration for that,” Smith told Sounds Like Nashville previously.

“I started thinking about, ‘Well, what am I attracted to in a woman,’ and it’s that whole mind-of-your-own thing and decision to be yourself,” Smith continued. “I think that’s a sexy thing when a woman is confident and sort of does what she’s gonna do. So Miranda Lambert reminded me of that.”

Fans will get to hear the “reactive” track during Smith’s run on the Long Way From The Freeway Tour, as well as his digitally released “This Night Back”.
