Few things say “it’s Thanksgiving” like the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A televised tradition for families around the country since 1948, the festive event sparks wonder in children and adults alike, thanks to its enormous character balloons, jaw-dropping floats and “how do they pull that off in this cold?” performances.

One country star who’s joining in for the biggest parade in the world is Carly Pearce and it’s safe to say she’s a little more than excited.

“Oh my gosh. The Macy’s Day Parade is a very significant part of my family’s Thanksgiving every year. We turn it on every [Thanksgiving] morning,” says the Kentucky native. “I, every year, have envisioned one day being able to do that parade. And the fact that this year, yet again, I get to cross something off my bucket list because of country radio and because of country fans—that’s amazing. And it is iconic, and it is something that everybody identifies with when you think of Thanksgiving. What a better way to be able to celebrate this month of releasing my new single and starting this new celebration of my next record than the Macy’s Day Parade.”

Pearce is reaching milestones in her music career which rightfully causes for celebration. The singer hopes to experience some of NYC’s holiday magic, but not before she gets her quality family time.

“I need to do something of that sort because I’ve never experienced New York at Christmas or just around the holidays in general, and I know that they’ll be getting ready for that with the Thanksgiving Day Parade,” says Pearce. “But I’ll be flying as soon as I’m done to be with my family”
