Just seven months after welcoming twins, Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane are expanding their family once again. During his Friday night (11/2) show in Madison Square Garden, Stapleton let fans in on their big news.
“I’ve got an announcement to make. Some of you may know that we have four children. We just had twins about seven months ago. Now there’s four for us, but we’re gonna make it five,” he said in a video posted by the Blast.
The news earned raucous applause from the packed crowd.

Thank you for all the love! We’re so grateful to finally be home with our sweet family. We would like to say a special thank you to all the incredible nurses & doctors at Centennial Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Nashville. At more than a month early, we had a week long stay in the nicu & the incredible people there kept our boys healthy & happy. Words cannot express our gratitude for you all & what you did for our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! ♥️♥️
The couple welcomed twins in April. Their arrival was revealed by Reba McEntire during the ACM Awards, which Stapleton was unable to attend. They are notoriously private about their children’s lives, not revealing the names of the babies, nor their two older children.
While another baby will be a big adjustment for the family, they were quickly embracing their new lives after the arrival of the twins.
“Well, you know, it’s like a baby times two, so we sleep less than having one baby,” Stapleton said during the 2018 CMA Music Festival. “But we’re doing great, they’re doing great and you know, it’s an amazing and wonderful thing.”
He added that his older children were eager to assist in taking care of their younger siblings.
“They’re super helpful and kind and sweet to them, and I’m so proud of them,” Stapleton shared. “They’re doing far better than I would have expected for the loss of attention that they have received in the last few months. So they’re remarkable individuals.”
