Dan + Shay Release Sentimental Wedding Song, ‘Speechless’
Dan + Shay reveal that "Speechless" was inspired by Dan Smyers' marriage to his wife, Abby Law, in May 2017, and Shay Mooney's marriage to Hannah Billingsley in October 2017.
Dan + Shay have released a heartfelt new ballad called “Speechless” ahead of their upcoming self-titled album, due out June 22. The beautiful song has the duo recalling each of their wedding days, admitting that seeing their new brides walk into a room still leaves them speechless.
“I’m speechless staring at you standing there in that dress / What it’s doing to me ain’t a secret / ‘Cause watching you is all that I can do / And I’m speechless / You already know that you’re my weakness / After all this time I’m just as nervous / Every time you walk into the room I’m speechless,” they sing on the chorus.

In a post on Instagram announcing the new song, Dan + Shay reveal that “Speechless” was inspired by Dan Smyers’ marriage to his wife, Abby Law, in May 2017, and Shay Mooney’s marriage to Hannah Billingsley in October 2017. Smyers and Mooney penned the song with Jordan Reynolds and Laura Veltz.
“We both got married last year, and wrote a song about the moment we first saw our beautiful brides walking down the aisle,” they share on Instagram.
The music video entails highlights from each singer’s wedding day and includes the emotional first look, the moment each bride walked down the aisle, and the couple being introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs. during the reception.
