Dierks Bentley Dubs Father’s Day as a Hallmark Holiday

“I've got great kids and I personally think Father's Day is just a Hallmark…you know, so, a way to make Hallmark big money, so I don't really think much about it," Bentley joked.

As a father to three children himself, Dierks Bentley puts precedence on the love shared between his family over the honorary Father’s Day holiday as a whole.

Thinking back to when he and his old man bonded during his upbringing, the country singer looked upon Father’s Day as a time to give gifts despite how unnecessary the occasion was. Bentley even remembered a hilarious present he gave to his father, and how strange the moment was between the two.

“I think back to my dad for Father’s Day…I used to go buy…I remember I bought him this like, suction cup that goes on the bottom of your putter so you can get the ball out of the hole without having to bend over and get it. It was the most random gifts of all time,” Bentley explained to Sounds Like Nashville and other media outlets during a recent interview.

The Arizona native already has a loaded plate on his schedule with tours and album promotion flooding his life. If Bentley could have anything in the world on the day honoring dads, he would ask for the simplest of gifts: sleep.

“I think what [my dad] really wanted was sleep, which is what I’d like. Last night around 4:30 in the morning, my son’s like literally pounding me in the eyeball. You know, that’s before one of the dogs gets up at 5:15 and my wife gets up at 6:15. It’s like the worst. I guess sleep would be nice, but I’m not gonna get that,” Bentley joked.

Nevertheless, Bentley doesn’t really care about celebrating just one day of his happiest role but rather focusing on fatherhood all year round. But don’t get him started when it comes to Mother’s Day back in May.

Bentley will thankfully have Father’s Day off from his Mountain High Tour, which runs throughout the summer months.
