As 2017 comes to a close, ABC will honor the lives and legacies of those lost throughout the year, as well as provide a year-end wrap up, during a two-night television special created by Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel. On Monday, Dec. 18, The Year In Memoriam 2017, hosted by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, will celebrate “the legendary stars and icons the world lost this year and the legacies they left behind.”

“The In Memoriam segments are always the most moving parts of a major awards show,” Kimmel said in a statement. “Robin and I thought it would be fitting to pay longer-form and more personal tribute to these American icons with great stories from their friends, colleagues and peers.”

The memoriam special, hosted by Robin Roberts, will feature country’s own Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker as they honor the late, great Glen Campbell. Hunter Hayes will also team up with Alice Cooper to celebrate Tom Petty and Chuck Berry.

In addition to the country acts, many other special guests will help honor the late icons. Valerie Harper, Ed Asner, Bernadette Peters and Dick Van Dyke will honor Mary Tyler Moore; Tracy Morgan, Bob Newhart, John Stamos and Bob Saget will remember Don Rickles; and Dane Cook, Jeff Ross and Sean Hayes will memorialize Jerry Lewis.

The second special, The Year: 2017, airing on Tuesday, Dec. 19, will compile some of the year’s biggest news items, from President Trump’s first year to the #MeToo movement. Roberts will be on hand to host the segment, alongside fellow ABC hosts George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, Michael Strahan, Lara Spencer, Amy Robach, Martha Raddatz, Juju Chang, Dan Harris, Byron Pitts, Paula Faris, Jonathan Karl and Tom Llamas.

Additionally, the special will feature some of the year’s breakout stars, including comedian Tiffany Haddish, Jeopardy contestant winner Austin Rogers, YouTube sensation Logan Paul and tennis star Sloane Stephens, while also examining the highs and lows of 2017 with guest contributors Meghan McCain of The View, ABC’s Shark Tank guest “Shark” Rohan Oza, comedian Michelle Buteau, ESPN host Katie Nolan, Entertainment Tonight host Kevin Frazier, CEO of TheBlaze Glenn Beck and ABC contributor Alex Rodriguez.

“What I appreciate about the special is that you get an entire year of news and pop culture in just two hours. The show is appropriately serious when it needs to be, and it’s also filled with many fun, lighter moments,” said Roberts.
