When the biggest stars in country music hit the scene in Las Vegas, there’s no telling what shenanigans they’ll get into while walking the ACM Awards blue carpet.

Just hours before the ceremony took place in Sin City, Sounds Like Nashville asked The Goldbergs actress and rising country star Hayley Orrantia to put on her hosting cap for the celebrated night. As artists and guests floated down the exclusive carpet line, a few dropped by to chat with Orrantia about the anticipation of the evening ahead.

It was Orrantia’s first time at the ACM Awards, so she dropped in for a few words of advice for her fellow friends in the format who warned her about staying hydrated and keeping her energy at a high.

“Sleep and water are your friends, ‘cause you don’t get a lot of them here,” Lindsay Ell joked to the host. “This is, like, some of the best food you’re ever going to see in the world, so eat a lot.”

Not leaving the opportunity behind to have some of the singers participate in a game or two, Orrantia challenged many of the artists to a round of quick questions. Even though some of the inquiries made no sense in context, they were left on the spot to come up with creative answers and hoping for the hilarity to ensue.

Carly Pearce called out Chris Lane for his casino addiction, while RaeLynn channeled some Brooks & Dunn to rhyme ‘boot’ and ‘scoot’ together for a mini-boogie. Some stars tried their best to finish the lyrics to some classic tracks and did pretty well considering the lack of singing when it came to karaoke hits like Shania Twain’s “Man, I Feel Like a Woman!” or Randy Travis’ “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

In the end, though, Orrantia prepped them all for a killer time in the awards, whether the performances and jokes ruled supreme throughout the ACM night.

The 53rd Annual ACM Awards were hosted by Reba, and aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
