"So it was my most raw place that I could've ever been when this song truly poured out of me," she shared.

In a tearful new interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum revealed that a recent miscarriage inspired her to write her faith-based new single, “Thy Will.”

“Last fall, I went through a miscarriage,” she said as she held back tears.

“This is something that is still not talked about very often,” the 30-year-old explained. “I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.”

Scott did what any songwriter would do after experiencing a tragedy like this one; she put all of the pain and emotions she was feeling into a song. While Scott was “experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage,” “Thy Will” was born.

“So it was my most raw place that I could’ve ever been when this song truly poured out of me,” she shared.

The Tennessee native, who is mom to almost 3-year-old Eisele Kay, says she now has a new perspective on life.

“I’m a different mom to her now … I hug her a lot tighter,” Scott said.

“Thy Will” is the lead single from Love Remains, the album Scott recorded with her family. The album will be available July 29.
