Jake Owen Divides Twitter After Announcing Plans To Grow His Hair Back Out

Fans who follow the singer on social media may have noticed the Florida native’s hair is a little longer than usual. That’s because he’s getting ready to relive his days with long locks. In a post to Twitter, the “American Love” singer revealed that he’s in the process of growing his hair back out.
“Spoiler alert… I’m growing that flow back,” Owen wrote.
The news spread like wildfire across Twitter as many of Owen’s fans “sheared” their opinions about the news. Messages of support for his decision poured in from his devout fans, while others pleaded for the singer to “mullet” over.

Owen first cut his iconic locks in 2011, making the first major change to his appearance since hitting the country music scene in 2006. He teased his cut with a photo of hair on the ground, writing “And they said I wouldn’t…”
2018 is already shaping up to be a standout year for Owen. Along with rocking a new ‘do, the singer is gearing up to release new music after signing a new record deal with Big Loud Records.
“I couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter in my career with Big Loud,” Owen said about the move. “The passion for success that everyone has in the building is contagious. Combining what I already do with Big Loud’s expertise is exciting, and I am eager to get to work with Joey Moi again. We had great success in the past and I’m looking forward to what the future holds for all of us.”
No release date has been set for Owen’s new music at this time.
