Spears took to Instagram to share the news of her pregnancy with a heartfelt post on Christmas Eve.

“Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone…sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” she wrote. “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist. During that time, I continued working on my music and telling my story, which has created some of my most honest work and I CANT wait to share that with you all very soon. 2018 is going to be filled with many milestones both personally and professionally. I appreciate each of you for your patience and support through It all. 2018 has a lot coming, so GET READY……..”

Spears, who rose to fame on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101, began making a name for herself in country music in 2013 with the release of her single “How Could I Want More.” She earned her first Top 10 single as a songwriter with “I Got The Boy,” recorded by Jana Kramer, in 2015. She wed Watson on March 14, 2014.

The news comes after a tumultuous 2017. On Super Bowl Sunday, Spears’ daughter Maddie was severely injured in an ATV accident on her family’s property. She was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital and made a miraculous recovery. The family later thanked hospital staff and first responders for their assistance and bravery.
