Jon Pardi Attributes Great Love For Country Music to His Grandma
Grandma played a big role in Jon Pardi's love for country music!
Jon Pardi’s love for country music and some of its traditional sounds is obvious from the music he puts out, but what many didn’t know was how big of a role his beloved grandma played in that.
“My grandmother loved to sing, and she would sing anywhere she could ‘cause it made her happy. And so when my parents would leave me with her while they went to work, most of the time we were in the little room [with] George Strait tapes, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, George Jones… I mean just traditional country singin’ and having a good time recording ourselves.”
Not only did Pardi’s grandma ignite his passion for country music, but she also unknowingly taught him a thing or two about performing — and being a great one at that. “My grandma was a great performer, I mean that’s really all. She didn’t have the great voice, but she could definitely entertain a room and I got some of that too from her,” he recounts endearingly.
The California native is currently out with Dierks Bentley on his “Burning Man” tour and is poised to reach the top of the country charts with current single “Night Shift.”
