When coming up with a concept for his “Take It From Me” music video, rising country star Jordan Davis wanted to get a little mischievous. Taking to the bustling streets of New York, the singer tells the love story of a pick-pocketing couple on the run from cops.

“We really wanted to mix it up with this video,” Davis shared with Billboard upon the clip’s debut. “Since ‘Singles You Up’ was shot in the desert in El Paso, Texas, the first thing that came to mind was New York. I love the energy and feeling you get when you’re in it, and thought it’d be a perfect fit for this video.”

Throughout the three-minute clip, the leading couple get into trouble after the female lead steals the wallet of a guy she distracts in a club, while Davis performs on stage. The couple exit the venue in a haste, with the woman bailing on her significant other once the blue lights show up.

“‘Take It From Me’ is a song about the early stages of a relationship when it doesn’t matter what she wants from you, she can take it — your time, your shirts, anything — she can have it. I think everybody has gone through that honeymoon phase of a relationship.”

The single is the second from Davis’ debut album, Home State, following his platinum-certified debut “Singles You Up.” He’s currently out on the road opening for Jake Owen’s Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour before joining Kip Moore’s After the Sunburn Tour.
