Keith Urban Sends Empowering Message to Women with ‘Female’

As a dedicated husband to his lovely wife and father of two precious girls, Keith Urban is honoring the ladies in his life and their strength through the ups and downs of it all with the release of his new single, “Female.”

Bringing the issues to light in a slow-tuned, lighthearted fashion, Urban pulled out his guitar and all of the kindness he feels toward women for a liberating song to celebrate each and every one. The country singer gave life to the track, inspired by the lady bosses that get stuff done every day in his life.

The writing team, consisting of Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman, turned the concept of sexism and inequality of women everywhere into a universal message of power by highlighting the best part about how girls run the world. Meaningful titles and words compel the chorus into a list of the good things like, “Sister, shoulder, daughter, lover, healer, broken halo, mother nature, fire, suit of armor, sole survivor, holy water.”

Songwriter Galyon even makes a vocal appearance as a background singer on the track she helped co-write, adding dimension to the influential lyrics in just the right places.

Urban always makes a point to put his family with Nicole Kidman first, and “Female” expresses his respect toward the girls around him in a way that speaks to the timing of what’s going on in their world. While he vocalizes the pros and cons about being “Female” throughout the song, Urban never once oversteps himself into the creation and lets the bravery of women shine.

At this time, there are no further plans announced for an album or more new music coming from Urban. “Female” will take its shot on country radio and hope to climb to the top, as many of the singer’s previous hits have done.
