Kelsea Ballerini’s emotional Grand Ole Opry induction was made even more magical by some of her superstar friends Tuesday night (April 16th). Backstage before her big moment, the “Miss Me More” star sang a few impromptu bars with Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, and she brought fans along for the ride.

Posting a short clip to Instagram, Ballerini can be seen in one of the Opry’s dressing rooms, rehearsing for the night’s duet with Underwood on Trisha Yearwood’s famous “Walkaway Joe.” Never one to miss a three part harmony, Urban joined in on the spur of the moment, offering a rare, unfiltered glimpse at some of the genre’s best-loved vocalists.

“Sometimes the most unforgettable moments are the unplanned ones. Like this,” Ballerini wrote. “Backstage at the Opry with two of my heroes singing one of my all time favorite songs. What a life.”

Her life got even better later in the evening, when Underwood officially made Ballerini the newest – and youngest – current member of the Grand Ole Opry. Highlighting how much Ballerini has accomplished and her belief that much more is to come, Underwood then remarked “This is better than all of that. The Opry has been and always will be here, the heart and soul of country music, and you are in it. Welcome to the family!”

Through tears, Ballerini praised Underwood for her grace and poise, and said of all the moments in her career that have made her stop and look around, she will always remember the night in 2015 when she made her Opry debut – and also this night.

“It’s really nice and comforting to know no matter where life takes me and no matter if the radio stops playing me tomorrow – no matter what happens – that I can always come here and I can always play country music,” she said.

Along with Underwood and Ballerini’s surprise duet on “Walkaway Joe,” the night also included surprise performances from Urban on “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and Vince Gill, who teamed up with bluegrass group The Del McCoury Band. Ballerini is currently out on her headlining Miss Me More Tour with Brett Young and Brandon Ratcliff.
