Kid Rock is following in the footsteps of a number of country stars by stamping his namesake onto an up-and-coming honkytonk idea.

Teaming up with the owners of Nashville’s famous Tootsie’s down on Broadway, Robert “Kid Rock” Ritchie decided it was time to bring a rock-and-roll element to the traditional country-inspired lane in the form of a four-story entertainment hub and steakhouse. While the bar does not hold a name at this time, Kid Rock and his team already planned out the look and wants it to resemble his blueprints verbatim.

“I’m scared to put my name on anything because my name is on it. If I put my stamp on it and have a vision for it and it’s something that’s detrimental, it’s not worth the money or risk. At this point, I don’t need to take risks. I want to do things that are fun and with good people,” said Ritchie, in a quote from The Tennessean.

The singer and his partners estimate a whopping $20 million going into the production of the space, to make sure everything goes just to plan. Kid Rock holds Tootsie’s as the best of the best on Broadway and wants their input based on the success of their other businesses in the downtown area.

“I like that — the history they’ve had here and they’ve been doing this before the big conglomerates started coming in and pouring in their money. They are invested in not only living here, but invested in Broadway and businesses around it,” Ritchie continued.

Tootsie’s holds a special spot in Kid Rock’s heart, as the performer admits to spending quite a lot of time in the legendary honkytonk and even tying the knot to former wife Pamela Anderson in the establishment.

Other stars who recently opened up their own bars on Broadway include Dierks Bentley with Whiskey Row, Florida Georgia Line with FGL House, Blake Shelton with Ole Red, John Rich with Redneck Riviera and Jason Aldean with Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar.

No word yet on the opening date for Kid Rock’s soon-to-be honkytonk.
