LANCO Finds Purpose With New Single, ‘Born to Love You’

"Looking in your eyes, yeah it's all so clear / Every time you smile, I know why I'm here / Wherever I go and whatever I do / I was born to love you, I was born to love you.”

Fresh off their multi-week No.1, “Greatest Love Story,” LANCO is headed back to radio with a fresh new single, “Born to Love You.” The second song from their debut album Hallelujah Nights to be released, the upbeat track sings of finding that the reason you’re put on this earth is to love the person you’re meant for.

“You know, when you’re in high school, it’s all about Friday night lights. And as you get older, you start to explore what the world has to offer,” lead singer Brandon Lancaster told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “But no matter where you end up or what you end up doing, you find that if you can find someone to go through life with, what you do, where you end up going, it’s all going to change, it’ll be different, but if you have that person next to you, you end up doing it for them anyway. So you kinda find that the reason you’re really here is because of them, and you were born to love them. That’s kind of the origin of that song and how it reflects all of us.”

Lancaster, who wrote or co-wrote each of the 11 songs featured on Hallelujah Nights, penned the tune with renowned songwriters Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne, and Ashley Gorley over a series of songwriting sessions, eventually writing lyrics like: “I could search the world from south to north / But I’ve already found what I’m looking for / Wherever I go and whatever I do / I was born to love you, I was born to love you / Looking in your eyes, yeah it’s all so clear / Every time you smile, I know why I’m here / Wherever I go and whatever I do / I was born to love you, I was born to love you.”

The quintet, comprised of Lancaster, bassist Chandler Baldwin, multi-instrumentalist Jared Hampton, drummer Tripp Howell and lead guitarist Eric Steedly, will take “Born to Love You” and “Greatest Love Story” out on the road for fans when an opening slot on Chris Young’s Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour. LANCO kicks off the run on January 11 in Indianapolis, IN and continue through February.
