Lauren Alaina Knows Luke Bryan Has What it Takes to be an ‘American Idol’ Judge
"He's kind and honest and he's Luke Bryan, so those are three really good things I think he has going for him,” she shared.
When American Idol premieres in March, Lauren Alaina and Kane Brown have no doubt Luke Bryan’s personality will shine on the judges panel.
As an alumnus of the singing show, Alaina couldn’t be happier to see that the stage where she got her start being revived for new talent to launch their own ambitious dreams. “I have my career because of American Idol. I would’ve moved to Nashville when I graduated high school either way, but just tried out for that show when I was 15, so it happened a little sooner than I expected. But I am here because of that show,” she says. “I’m excited for the people on that show that are talented and have a dream and don’t know another path.”
And she knows Bryan, who welcomed her as an opening act on his 2017 Huntin,’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour, will make for a quality judge with his kind heart and undeniable star power. “I love Luke,” she gushes. “He’s been a big brother to me and been really, really good to me. He was my very first tour off of Idol so I’m excited. I think he’ll do really well with it, he’s kind and honest and he’s Luke Bryan, so those are three really good things I think he has going for him,” she continues with a smile.
Alaina’s “What Ifs” duet partner Brown agrees that the “Move” singer is fit for the job, seeing his personality type as one that will charm audiences on a national level like two of his fellow country pals. “I put him up in the category personality-wise of Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton. I just feel like he’s got what it takes to be a judge, so I’m excited to see how it is,” Brown says.
Bryan makes his debut as a judge on the singing competition when American Idol returns on its new network home of ABC on March 11.
