Are you ready for some football…and some Luke Bryan? The country superstar will be taking on the opening role of performing the National Anthem to kick off Super Bowl LI.

Boasted as the most-watched television event of the entire year, Bryan will mark the performance down as a touchdown in his career as he joins the ranks of many other musical legends before him who have sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The country singer is the fifth artist from the genre to have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, next to familiar faces such as Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks and Faith Hill.

Bryan also finds himself in amazing company as a Super Bowl performer with artists like Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, Diana Ross, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston and more from prior years.

As a native Georgia boy, Bryan will indeed be rooting for his Atlanta Falcons as they take on the New England Patriots at the Houston venue. But in the end, it’s all about the anthem for the country superstar.

“I’m a huge Atlanta Falcons fan and it would be amazing if my Falcons make it. But either way, “I’ll be focused on the anthem. And once I walk off that field and shake off that pressure, I’ll be ready to enjoy some football,” he said recently.

Tune in to Super Bowl LI to catch Bryan’s performance as well as the Falcons playing the Patriots on Sunday, February 5, live on FOX.
