Maren Morris has a lot to celebrate in the form of her very first No.1 song as a solo performer and songwriter. The GRAMMY-winner took her power ballad “I Could Use A Love Song” to the top of both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country charts this week.

The Texas native celebrated the song’s success days early as it sat in the No.1 spot, bringing bottles of champagne to her co-writers, Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz.

“43 weeks. Proud to be a woman today. 🎤💨To my amazing Columbia promo team, to country radio, to the fans, thank you for making “I Could Use A Love Song” my first number one,” she wrote on Twitter.

Many of Morris’ country peers congratulated the singer on her major accomplishment, praising her work ethic and celebrating the success of a female act.

The chart-topping song isn’t quite done with its successes as it’s currently nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at the 60th annual GRAMMY Awards, facing off against songs from Sam Hunt, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton.

“I Could Use A Love Song” is the third single from Morris’ debut release, HERO. The singer is currently working on new music that she teases is “coming sooner than you think.”
