Mason Ramsey became a household name after a video of the pre-teen yodeling in a Walmart went viral. Months later the young man is still top of mind, showcasing classic country in a fresh and modern way, which is exactly why Cracker Barrel came a-calling.

The national food chain loves Ramsey’s new spin on old classics so they enlisted him to be the face of their Tried and True Made New music program, coinciding with their updated fall menu. The limited-time menu features a fresh twist on the restaurant’s traditional menu items, revitalizing the already beloved food.

Embracing the “fresh twist,” Ramsey has put his own spin on several country classics, including “Lovesick Blues,” “Hey, Good Lookin’,” “I Saw The Light” and “Peggy Sue,” the latter of which is premiering on Sounds Like Nashville.

Taking on the iconic song was an exciting challenge for the 11-year-old, who’d never performed the tune previously.

“It was my first time singing ‘Peggy Sue.’ I picked it because I thought it was a cool song and Buddy Holly was a cool guy. It’s fast and fun! I like everything about it,” he tells SLN.
