Michael Ray is sharing another brand new song with fans ahead of the release of his sophomore album, Amos, on June 1. The feel-good “One That Got Away” is available instantly upon pre-ordering the singer’s upcoming project.

“Some relationships aren’t meant to last, however that doesn’t mean they are any less significant,” Ray shares in a press release. “‘One That Got Away’ takes what would normally be a sad experience and flips it to embrace those moments. I think this song really celebrates one of the best parts of growing up–taking that risk on a relationship and opening yourself up to something that could be really great.”

On the song, Ray sings of pursuing a woman who is out of his league. “She’s decorating my car / Soon she’ll be breaking my heart,” he croons. The upbeat musical production and Ray’s warm vocals turns heartbreak into a positive memory. While “she may only be mine tonight,” he recognizes, “she’s gonna be one hell of a one that got away.”

“One That Got Away” was written by Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey, Josh Osborne, Josh Rosen and Jesse Frasure. The song follows the release of “Her World Or Mine,” “Fan Girl” and Ray’s current single, “Get To You.”
