The clock is winding down for the characters of Nashville as their sixth and final season of the drama series will officially end toward the end of July after finishing out the run with a mid-season premiere in June.

Nashies will need to start bracing themselves for the sad goodbye when the finale airs on CMT and all of their favorite faces say goodbye to the show that highlighted the best that Music City has to offer in music and love. Throughout the roller coaster of a storyline over the past few years, Nashville wrote a love story within its drama to the setting they all called home.

Although all of the same cast members will remain in their own roles, production will add actors Ronny Cox and Mia Maestro for the second half of the season six run to spice up the action. Cox, known for roles on True Detective and RoboCop, has been cast as Gideon, a recently reformed, lifelong alcoholic. He’s come back to make amends with his son, Deacon (Charles Esten), after many years of resenting his success.

Maestro, known for her role on Scandal, will appear as Rosa. Rosa has been a longtime follower of Darius’ (Josh Stamberg) Movement and is now having second thoughts about her involvement.

It’s been a journey for both the cast and fans of Nashville as they’ve watched the show succeed during its premiere seasons on ABC to getting cut from the network’s lineup in a surprise cancellation. Thankfully, CMT came to the series’ rescue and revived the show for its last couple seasons.

The show has also sparked events outside of its television airing, including international tours and music opportunities for each of the stars in their own rights.
