Say goodbye to being the back-up because RaeLynn is encouraging the brokenhearted to ‘let it ring all night long’ and stop being your ex’s ‘lonely call.’

In the new Chris Hicky- directed music video for the Texas native’s single “Lonely Call,” RaeLynn enlists the help of several girlfriends to help a friend move past her recent heartbreak. The bubbly blonde encourages her friend leave the phone alone while her ex desperately tries to reach her for a familiar voice while he’s alone.

RaeLynn wrote the track years ago during an off-period with her then-boyfriend, now-husband, Josh Davis. The couple had broken things off, but Davis would call the singer late at night to talk and she eventually decided that she had to break the cycle.

“We dated when I was 18 for like, 10 months, and then we broke up for two years and got back together,” she told Sounds Like Nashville recently. “So anyway, when we broke up, you know, when you first break up, you’re still so in love. I’ve never fallen out of love with Josh, let me rephrase that. You talk every day, so you have to get used to not being ‘together.’ So the first time he called me, and it was late and we weren’t dating anymore, I wanted to answer so bad. I think the first time I did, and then the next time he called again, I was like, I just can’t keep doing this. I can’t be his lonely call. I can’t do this.”

RaeLynn got through those hard times with the help of friends and family, who she also called on for support for the making of the video. Fellow Nashville artist Lindsay James “LJ” Hague, singer/songwriter and The Goldbergs actress Hayley Orrantia and sister-in-law/best friend Heather Davis play a small role in the nearly four-minute clip.

“Lonely Call” is the follow-up to RaeLynn’s heart-wrenching divorced-inspired single, “Love Triangle,” and marks the second single from her full-length project WildHorse.
