Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney are two of country music’s biggest hit makers. Since the 90’s, the pair has come up in the industry together and have remained good friends along the way. But when you get two boys horsing around together, they’re eventually bound to run into some trouble.

In June of 2000, McGraw and Chesney were headlining a concert together in Buffalo, NY and were looking to have some fun after the show. According to news reports, Chesney wanted to ride a police horse and asked the daughter of the sheriff’s deputy if he could do so. He then proceeded to jump on the horse and ride away, ignoring commands to stop. McGraw couldn’t stand by as officers tried to remove his buddy, so he and his manager got involved.

By the end of the night, both stars were arrested but later released on bail. McGraw and his manager were charged with second-degree assault and faced up to one year in prison, while Chesney was charged with disorderly conduct. A year after the incident, all parties were found innocent as a jury cleared both singers of all charges.

The pair has calmed down quite a bit since then, but they both still enjoy having fun, especially while out on the road. In 2017, you can catch McGraw with his wife Faith Hill on their cross country 65-city Soul2Soul tour or Chesney on his select few summer dates.
