After shocking fans with an unannounced on-stage reunion at the 51st Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 8), Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush performed together for the first time in nearly five years as Sugarland at the Big Machine Label Group CMA Awards after party.

Scott Borchetta, CEO of Big Machine Records, introduced the GRAMMY-winning duo and hinted around that the duo might be joining one of the label group’s imprints.

“Beautiful things happen when you let the music do the talking,” he said as Nettles and Bush stood beside him. “Beautiful things happen when you let the right energy happen. Are you with me?”

The invite-only crowd erupted with cheers.

“I’m with you and I’m with Sugarland,” he continued. “I’m with Jennifer and Kristian. Would you like to hear them sing?”

The duo then took the stage to perform a number of their biggest hits, including the GRAMMY-winning “Stay.”

In an email shared with press on Thursday, a representative from Big Machine Label Group confirmed that Sugarland is expected to make an announcement about new music in the coming weeks.
