There’s no stopping Thomas Rhett as fans and country radio alike are clearing craving his music. In just 15 weeks, the rising superstar earned his fastest-rising single to date with the smash “Craving You.” Topping both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts, the collaboration with Maren Morris marks Rhett’s eighth time in the No.1 spot.

“I heard this song went No. 1 this morning while I was on vacation with my family,” said Rhett in a press release. “It just reminded me how everything about this song has been fun. From having Maren sing on it, to making a really rad video to just feeling the energy from the fans each night when we play it live. It’s an unbelievable way to start out this record…I really can’t wait to share more.”

Morris was equally excited about the news, which came just hours after announcing her engagement to singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd.

“As if this week could get any better, CRAVING YOU IS #1! Thank you @thomasrhettakins for asking me to be apart of my very first number one song. Also, @davebarnesmusic and @julianbulian , for writing this epic jam, and thank you country radio for showing it all the love,” she wrote in a repost of Rhett’s Instagram Boomerang.

“Craving You” is the lead single from Thomas Rhett’s upcoming third studio album. The project, Rhett shares, is something that will be quite different from his previous two.

“My records a lot of the times don’t have themes because they’re kind of all over the place and scattered, but I will say this record is very nostalgic-feeling. There’s a lot of songs that feel very nostalgic and lyric-wise, it talks just a lot about being in high school or in college and kinda how I got to this point in life and how life has drastically changed over the last few years,” Rhett told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently.

Details about a release date and title for the upcoming project have yet to be revealed.
