We’re ready to celebrate America’s birthday, and no one honors this country better than country music. The genre’s catalogues are filled with patriotic tunes that are perfect for your Fourth of July playlist and we compiled them below so you don’t have to.

Check out some of country’s most patriotic tunes and have a happy Fourth!

Waylon Jennings, “America”

This oldie but goodie paints the picture of a unified country that looks out for one another. The 1984 track calls on citizens to play their part no matter where they come from or what their past looks like. Jennings pays homage to the land that he loves in this song and it will have you beaming with American pride by the time the last note hits.

Chely Wright, “The Bumper of My SUV”

This ballad is based off a true story in which Wright was harassed by another driver for sporting a Marine Corps bumper sticker that her brother gave to her before he left for duty. “So I hope that lady in her mini-van/Turns on her radio and hears this from me/As she picks up her kids from their private school/And drives home safely on our city streets/Or to the building where her church group meets/Yeah, that’s why I’ve got a sticker for the U.S. Marines/On the bumper of my SUV,” Wright recalls of the incident in her tune. The touching song serves as a reminder to give thanks to the troops, and their families, for all they do to keep America free.

Toby Keith, “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue”

This foot-tapping track is beating with American pride. Keith praises patriotism and faith in his country throughout the song in an intense way. “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” created controversy with Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines who made the comment that the song makes country music sound ignorant. Keith did not take kindly to this and started a public feud, until one year later when he decided he had bigger things to worry about. “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” was a commercial success launching all the way to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Brooks and Dunn, “Only in America”

“Only in America” praises this country for being the place where any dream can come true. Released in 2001, the song outlines the lives of Americans, from bus drivers to kids selling lemonade, and draws the conclusion they can “dream as big as they want to.” Brooks and Dunn’s hit was so big, it became the anthem for George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection campaign and has popped on other campaign trails including Barack Obama and John Kerry.

Lee Greenwood, “God Bless the USA”

Though written in 1983, “God Bless the USA” became an enormous coping song following the attacks of 9/11. The track oozes of patriotism and love for America in every verse and is the perfect soundtrack to your Fourth of July fireworks this year.
