It was a stressful night for contestants on The Voice faced America’s vote in hopes of moving on to the next round of the Top 11 left to compete.

The decisions were made and the cuts impacted Team Kelly and Team Adam the most when two of their players hit the moment of elimination. D.R. King tried to win over the audience with “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and even Clarkson mentioned how important his versatility was to the competition. Nevertheless, it was Rayshun LaMarr that made his way through to next week with a stellar rendition of Tina Turner’s “I Can’t Stand the Rain.”

Although the night saw the loss of King, everything wasn’t as sad as it sounds as a couple of the coaches paired up with their teams to perform together on stage. Blake Shelton joined Kyla Jade, Pryor Baird and Spensha Baker to sing a soulful version of “I Thank You,” combining their elements of jazz, rock and country into one solid sound.

Clarkson celebrated her birthday in style by standing alongside her squad as they busted out their chops on “Don’t Take the Money.” It will be a day to remember in Clarkson’s memory as they jammed out hard to the track before saying goodbye to one of their own from the show.

Next week will determine who goes on to the Top 10 and continues on the journey to become this year’s trophy winner of The Voice.

The Voice airs new episodes every Monday and Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
