Wendy Williams Suggests Carrie Underwood Had a Face-Lift

“She [Carrie] released on Twitter that we may not recognize her when it’s all said and done. I don’t know what that means… an excuse for a face lift," said Williams.

Carrie Underwood fans are outraged after talk show host Wendy Williams suggested the superstar’s November fall may not be exactly what it appears to be. During the “Hot Topic” segment on Williams’ January 8 show, the host mentioned Underwood’s devastating accident, admitting that she didn’t buy what happened.

“Did you hear about her? … I really don’t know a whole bunch about it, but she allegedly fell down a bunch of steps at her house, broke her wrist,” said Williams. “She [Carrie] released on Twitter that we may not recognize her when it’s all said and done. I don’t know what that means… an excuse for a face lift.”

The audience was clearly uncomfortable with Williams outlandish theory so she quickly tried to appease the crowd.

“No… We’re cynical! She was already cute, so I don’t know what she’s doing or what happened,” she continued in an attempt to backpedal. “If you’re home by yourself, how long do you lay there? Who’s going to save you, the dog?”

Williams’ “joke” didn’t go over well with Underwood’s devoted fans either, many of whom took to Twitter to tear her apart for suggesting such a thing.

While fans defend Underwood across Twitter, the superstar is recovering at home after revealing just how devastating her accident truly was. Just days after hosting the CMA Awards, Underwood was rushed to the hospital after a fall left her with a broken wrist. She later revealed more gruesome details of the incident, sharing with fans that she had to get 40-50 stitches in her face.

“In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike [Fisher] that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in,” she wrote in a letter to her fan club.

“I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way,” she continued. “I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”
