Willie Nelson Forced To Cancel Several Shows Due To ‘a Bad Cold or the Flu’

Willie Nelson has been forced to cancel a number of concerts due to an undisclosed illness.
The news comes after the legendary performer’s show on Saturday (Jan. 6) at the Harrah’s Resort SoCal was cut short. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, Nelson kicked off his show with the song “Whiskey River” and abruptly ended his performance after the opening number. The 84-year-old was reportedly coughing and experiencing difficultly breathing when he left the stage.
Nelson’s longtime publicist told the publication that the singer came down with “a bad cold or the flu” and that he was heading back to Texas to recover.
To allow the singer time to heal, the rest of the shows scheduled for this week have been cancelled. Nelson is currently scheduled to resume touring on February 7 with a show at Macon, Georgia’s Macon City Auditorium.
