Year in Review: 2018’s Country Music Engagements
Love is in the air!
2018 was filled with romantic gestures and lifelong promises as several country music stars got engaged. Whether they popped the question or were on the receiving end, these singers couldn’t help but display the love they share with their partner in special posts commemorating the moment.
Take a look back at this year’s country music engagements…
Brett Young – “Mercy” singer Brett Young got down on one knee to propose to his longtime girlfriend Taylor Mills. The couple had been on and off for the better part of ten years, but ultimately decided they just couldn’t live without one another. The two also rushed down the aisle as they also wed later in 2018 during a romantic California celebration.
Charlie Worsham – According to Charlie Worsham himself, ‘the Good Lord has blessed me so much in this life,’ and those blessings included his fiancee Kristen Anne Korzenowski. The two met when she set up his Follow Your Heart Scholarship and the two bonded over their love for philanthropy and darts.
Jillian Jacqueline – Jillian Jacqueline had all the “reasons” to say yes to her boyfriend when he popped the question in Paris. During a special getaway, they promised each other forever in the City of Lights with the Eiffel Tower as a picturesque backdrop.
Maddie Marlow – 1/2 of Maddie & Tae is ready to take a walk down the aisle and she and her high school sweetheart are engaged to be married. Marlow had a premonition about the proposal, causing her fiance Jonah Font to ditch his vacation proposal plans and ask ahead of their trip to Cabo San Lucas.
Jessica Mack – One of the stars of CMT’s Music City found the love of her life in Andreas Plackis. While their love blossomed quickly, it took awhile for Mack to figure out Plackis’ extravagant scavenger hunt proposal plans. He ultimately helped her finish the clues so he could ask her to be his wife.
Lauren Alaina – Georgia native Lauren Alaina has been head over heels for her longtime boyfriend Alex Hopkins for many years. After a successful year professionally, the singer capped off 2018 with a personal win after Hopkins popped the question. The moment took place just hours before Alaina was slated to open up for Jason Aldean’s massive show at the SunTrust Park (in her home state of Georgia!).
Luke Combs – Luke Combs decided to keep things special and intimate for his at home proposal. The singer teased the details with a photo of the couple days later in Hawaii, saying the sunset was a much better backdrop than the kitchen he’d proposed in.

Songbirds turned lovebirds Carly Pearce and Michael Ray also made it official (after less than a year of dating!) in a tropical paradise. While on vacation in Tulum, Mexico, the “One That Got Away” singer got down on one knee and proposed with a stunning ring (that Pearce has taken to hash tagging #ThatRingTho on social media). The couple shared the news a few days later, after celebrating privately with her parents. Next up they’re headed to spend their first Christmas as an engaged couple at Ray’s family home in Florida.
