It was a night of trends and triumphs at the 51st Annual CMA Awards as the biggest names in country music graced the red carpet for “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”

With a few of the ladies showing off some skin in plunging necklines and the guys sporting their studly ensembles in suits head-to-toe, everyone brought the fashion game to the next level with their show-stopping outfits worthy of a runway. But it wasn’t all glitz and glam as some stars missed the mark on their own style by trying out way too many bold moves during the classic awards event.

Sneak a peek at the hot and not list of fashion at the 51st Annual CMA Awards, and see which of your favorite artists landed on each list!

Best Dressed:

Carrie UnderwoodCan Carrie Underwood do wrong when it comes to fashion? Blue definitely seems to be her color unlike the Keith Urban single as the country singer looked radiant in her royal gown with a trendy off-the-shoulder neckline. While she changed her outfits throughout the broadcast, this number reigned supreme at the top of our list.

Lauren AlainaOne word: WOW. Celebrating CMA Awards as the honorary birthday girl, Lauren Alaina didn’t wind up with a trophy but she definitely won the prize for looking the most smokin’ hot of the night. Anyone witnessing this beauty walking the carpet wanted to sip in that wine-colored dress nice and slow as the evening rolled on.

Miranda LambertPowder blue looks good on you, Miranda Lambert. Whimsical and ethereal all the same, the Female Vocalist of the Year took a page out of a fairytale book by dazzling in this soft yet sparkling gown. Those matching blue eyes could break anyone’s heart as well!

Brett EldredgeWhen in doubt, bowtie it out. Brett Eldredge got the dapper memo and suited up in his best rags for a night out on the town sans his man’s best friend, Edgar. Although his furry friend wasn’t by his side, Eldredge still got some puppy love for his classic tuxedo ensemble.

Kelsea BalleriniWhat an absolute ‘Legend’ Kelsea Ballerini is in this white floral-encrusted gown with gold accents. Pairing the glowy look with some cute arm candy, she ‘Unapologetically’ looked flawless in fashion and in love.

Worst Dressed:

Dustin LynchIt may be the season to bring out the glitz and the glam, but Dustin Lynch needs to do a little less when it comes to his sparkle. Rather than shining brighter than the solar eclipse, he should opt for one statement piece next time he steps onto a red carpet.

Brothers OsborneCalling all grandmothers: Brothers Osborne stole the wallpaper from your vintage 1970s model home and used it for their accent pieces. The pastels and florals need to be tucked away in the scrapbook next time rather than used as a part of fashion. A little too passé if you ask us politely.

PinkIs it just us or did Elle King wear an identical look to this in the past two years? Maybe Jennifer Lawrence? Regardless, Pink traded in her typical punk pride for tons of tulle and the dress swallows her up like a too big tutu. Frills don’t always equal thrills on this one.

Maren MorrisMaren Morris knows exactly the line of cool versus edgy. She definitely crossed over and was “Seeing Blind” when she picked out that frock to don the red carpet for her night to remember. Redemption thankfully came through her stellar performance with Niall Horan rather than her fashion choices.

Garth BrooksRule No. 1 of red carpet fashion: hire a tailor. Garth Brooks may not be hopping on to the skinny pant trend, but getting a pair of trousers hemmed becomes a necessity once you enter the entertainment world. ‘Ask Me How I Know’ that the reigning Entertainer of the Year shouldn’t be drowning in the bottoms of his britches.
